Time Out (Yellow Colored Vinyl)

THE DAVE BRUBECK QUARTET – TIME OUT (LP, YELLOW COLORED VINYL)

• Limited edition 180-gram yellow-colored vinyl including photography by renowned French jazz photographer Jean-Pierre Leloir
• A groundbreaking jazz album built around unconventional time signatures, featuring the classic “Take Five”

Description

Time Out was an unusual album from the start, as it featured unconventional time signatures on all of its tracks. While most tunes in Western popular music rely on standard 4/4 rhythms, this album was devoted to rhythmic structures that had rarely been heard in jazz before — and yet it became an absolute hit. Most of the compositions were written by Dave Brubeck himself, with the notable exception of “Take Five,” composed by Paul Desmond, which became one of the most recognizable jazz themes of all time. This special edition is pressed on 180-gram yellow vinyl and includes iconic photographs by Jean-Pierre Leloir, whose work captured jazz musicians with intimacy, elegance, and deep humanity.
