Presented here are three seminal albums by the great Ornette Coleman (1930-2015): The Shape of Jazz to Come (Atlantic SD-1317), featuring the debut of the splendid piano-less quartet with Don Cherry, Charlie Haden and Billy Higgins; Change of the Century (Atlantic SD-1327), with the same personnel, and Something Else!!!! (Contemporary S-7551), which marked the debut recording by the Ornette Coleman Quintet, also showcasing Cherry and Higgins.
