"Chet Baker Quartet Vol.2" (Barclay 84017) was the second album recorded by Baker in Europe. Before that 1955 tour, he had never been to the Old Continent. The session that resulted in this LP features Chet playing well-known songs in the company of French pianist Gérard Gustin, Swedish drummer Nils-Bertil Dahlander, and bassist Jimmy Bond (the latter a member of the original Chet Baker Quartet that started the tour). Further sessions recorded by Baker in Paris for Barclay and originally included on "Chet Baker and His Quintet" (Barclay BLP-84042) have been added here as a bonus.
