Ben Webster was, without a doubt, one of the most important and influential tenor saxophonists in jazz. "Ben Webster Meets Oscar Peterson" (Verve MGV-8349) features some of his finest collaborations with Oscar Peterson, who the tenor saxophonist often stated was his favorite accompanist. Their previous album together, Soulville (Verve MGV-8274), has been added here in its entirety as a bonus. Webster was a true master playing ballads, and these albums contain some of his best interpretations in the genre.
